[CGN Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power BOP Civil Engineering and Conventional Island Installation Project] Rubber Expansion Joint Contract

Shanghai Songjiang Shock Absorber Group Co., Ltd. presents information regarding the [CGN Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power BOP Civil Engineering and Conventional Island Installation Project] Rubber Expansion Joint Contract on its official website. Songjiang Group has provided high-quality flexible rubber expansion joints for numerous nuclear power station projects. These joints are composed of rubber and flanges, ensuring high product quality. Below is an introduction to the rubber expansion joint contract for the CGN Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power BOP Civil Engineering and Conventional Island Installation Project.

I. Introduction to the CGN Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power Project:

The second unit of the CGN Zhejiang Sanao Nuclear Power Project has completed the turbine foundation concrete pouring, marking the start of the main conventional island works. The civil construction of the conventional island is fully prepared for further work, ensuring the synchronized advancement of both the turbine foundation and the plant framework. The Sanao Nuclear Power Project plans to build six units of “Hualong One,” a third-generation nuclear power technology developed in China with independent intellectual property rights. The first-phase units, Unit 1 and Unit 2, commenced construction on December 31, 2020, and December 30, 2021, respectively. Currently, the design of the first-phase project is nearly complete, with 95% of equipment procurement finalized. The construction phase has reached its peak. The “Hualong One” technology adopted by the project has a design life of 60 years and features innovative safety systems combining active and passive measures, such as double-layer containment, meeting the highest international safety standards.

“The second unit of the Sanao Nuclear Power Project is the first nuclear power unit to begin construction in Zhejiang Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Since 2022, we have consistently maintained high efficiency in balancing epidemic prevention and construction progress. Together with all participating units, we have overcome challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and continuous high temperatures, ensuring steady progress,” said Liu Jianyi, Deputy General Manager of CGN Cangnan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. He added that while construction is progressing smoothly, Cangnan Nuclear Power is also preparing for production, focusing on organization, personnel, technical preparation, and project involvement to ensure orderly progress in all areas, contributing to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with concrete actions.

Once all six units of the Sanao Nuclear Power Project are completed, the annual power generation capacity will reach 52.5 billion kilowatt-hours. This will result in an annual reduction of 15.88 million tons of standard coal consumption and 43.68 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to afforestation of 118,000 hectares. The project will provide sustainable clean energy for the Yangtze River Delta region, making a positive contribution to the national “dual carbon” strategy.
